WISS started out as a secondary school in 2011 under the name 'Waterloo Independent Secondary School'. Since then WISS has continued to grow to serve the diverse needs of our learning community to help students become the best version of themselves. We have been based here in Waterloo, Ontario since 2019.

The school's founders decided to open a school for global thinking families. As part of her mandate the school would provide 21st century learning skills including opportunities for STEAM, Robotics and outdoor learning.

The environment would be warm, kind and filled with laughter of happy children.

Now, WISS Academy operates under the trusted WISS name and is committed to excellence in all we do – from our immersive education to how we incorporate best practices from around the world into our enriched curriculum.
